CORPORATE FILM
Production of designed glass packaging of different colors and sizes for the food, beverage, spirits, pharmaceutical and cosmetic sectors.
Şişecam Glass Packaging Group has an annual production capacity of 2.3 million tons, making it the largest glass packaging manufacturer in Turkey and the 5th largest in the world and in Europe. The company continues its production with a total of 10 plants, including 3 in Turkey, 5 in Russia, 1 in Ukraine, and 1 in Georgia.
Şişecam Glass Packaging Group made its first investment outside of Turkey with the acquisition of the Mina Plant in Georgia in 1997. This foreign investment was followed by Gorokhovets, Pokrovsky, Ufa, Kirishi, and Kuban Plant investments in 2002, 2004, 2005, 2008 and 2009, respectively, with the goal of capitalizing on the dynamic structure offered by the Russian market. Finally in 2011, an existing glass packaging plant in Merefa, Ukraine was purchased, through which the group’s foreign production capacity was increased to 1.3 million tons annually.
Glass is the packaging material that best deserves to be called “healthy packaging” because it increases the trust in the food and beverages it holds by not reacting with them.
With the “Glass is Glass Again” Project, over 200,000 primary school students have received an education about recycling since 2011 and more than 570,000 tons of glass packaging waste has been recycled.
